The number of revolutions of the disc is counted by a registering mechanism, which displays the energy consumption in kWh.

•  Three phase energy meter: This type of meter is used for measuring the energy consumption of a three phase load, such as a large industrial or commercial load. It consists of two single phase meters connected by a common shaft and a registering mechanism. Each single phase meter has its own electromagnets and disc, and measures the power consumed by one phase of the load. The torques of the two discs are added mechanically, and the total rotation of the shaft is proportional to the three phase energy consumption. The registering mechanism displays the energy consumption in kWh.
